Form inputs with errors don't show their error message in space constrained environments (meaning tables or inline forms). This has been shown to be an issue in Malawi.
Focusing on a form element with an error in a table or inline form displays error popover
Go to table forms styleguide
Click on any table cell with an input, and then click off the table to show all error messages
Click on the first text input with an error message - a popover with an error message should appear above the element
Press tab to navigate to the next error input (which should be a select element) - a popover with an error message should appear above the element
Press tab to navigate to the last error cell, a popover with an error message should appear
Make selections to fix the error messages, then tab through the row again – only the "forced" error message popover should appear
Here is one part of how these new error messages work that I don't really like... and I mostly forgot about until now — lemme know if you are ok moving this ticket through QA with this defect, and we can make a bug for it
I followed your test steps and this looks good. I didn't create a new test case for this because it isn't in the system yet. Let me know if you want me to do anything else.
is this ticket done? Or are we holding for something?
Yes this is done.
