- Build our own - doesn't offer the flexibility for changes and maintenance
- Tableau - meets requirements, but very expensive
- Superset (stack) - meets requirements, is viable though clunky and doesn't meet things perfectly sometimes, would be somewhat time consuming, would be aligned with V3 upgrades, hardware and hosting about $600 per month
- PowerBI - very appealing, meets requires well, faster deliverable (in short term), very good integration with Excel, be able to update data via excel update, downside is that really would need Office 365 accounts and access to the online tools - if not already in place would need to figure out ways to get them or a workaround but a workaround would be likely inviable, would be about $600 per month
- the accounts piece really makes it difficult - Office 365 account really means "aad account" azure active directory, easiest way to get aad is via office 365, giving access to the online version of
- Superset seems the most viable and safest option
- Could run it on Azure hosting and apply Microsoft credit for non-profits ($5000)
- Been working with Core team and Ona to integrate with OpenLMIS
- essentially open source Tableau
- Runs exclusively on web browser
- Decision - move forward with Superset
