Announcement:
OpenLMIS included in Global Fund/Gavi country guidance on selecting LMIS systems
The guidance identifies off-the-shelf applications that Gavi; the Global Fund; or other funding, donor or technical assistance agencies can recommend to countries seeking a new LMIS. And thanks to some advocacy efforts from the steward team last year, OpenLMIS is featured in this global guidance!
Seven software solutions and service providers (including OpenLMIS) were fully or mostly qualified to support visibility from the central/national storage level to the health facility level. They include proven open-source applications as well as commercial products that come with either software licensing or software as a service (SaaS) agreements.

Gaurav: How does the SIGLUS app fit in re: mobile app? This is something that is in the works but in the future could it become part of the core product as it becomes compatible with v3
Brandon: This is the direction it is heading and worth a future governance committee discussion
Kelly- No current conversation about making this a routine thing that can be updated as functionalities are updated; no active tracking being done by global fund and Gavi
Ashraf: we should find an opportunity to request that they add other criteria; like open source
This snapshots does not do justice to the nuances of these systems–the table can be misleading; there are other considerations and dimensions.

Overview of OpenLMIS Exploratory Phase

Overview of Exploratory Phase: timeline, priorities/objectives, workstreams descriptions
Objective: provide countries with ability to quickly deploy a tool to manage COVID commodities; increase visibility and understand their needs (no more excel)
There are limited global supplies-understanding country-level demand can help to optimally distribute demand
Product: Cloud-based lightweight version of OpenLMIS; just for COVID commodities. Plan to build this out in the next 2-3 weeks. Utilize existing OpenLMIS workflow. Very focused on COVID-not flexible. Will build a generalizable product catalog for COVID supplies. Hope to identify countries soon
Integration with PCMT (Product Catalog Management Tool) to manage product catalog
Roles: VillageReach, CHAI (primary implementing partner), SolDevelo (lead developer)

Existing global goods that have COVID19 features being developed; donor conversations who want to understand what tools to use/promote
WHO has put together list of commodities- are we using this?
What type of Comms things can we do to disseminate this idea-
- Use the OpenHIE COVID19 Task Force–start letting people know to pay attention to SCM
- other opportunities to leverage/cross-pollinate with other efforts
- Once details are confirmed; will develop a fact sheet for it

Opportunities documentation
Definitions to use shared terminology:
- Implementation opportunity: an opportunity for an implementation or deployment of the OpenLMIS software. Usually this is done at a national or sub-national level within a ministry of health. This can also include feature work which would be done within the implementation and contributed back to the global codebase.
- Community opportunity: a funding opportunity to support an organization or individual to work directly on the global codebase and/or administrate the community processes. This may include funding specific features on the community roadmap.
Country implementation opportunities:
- This Trello table is being updated on an ongoing basis; to help the core team to track and manage implementation opportunities, but also provides a detailed snapshot of the scope and status of current implementation opportunities for stakeholders.
Community Opportunities:
- New Trello table! Similar to the above table, this tool is being used by the stewards to track our exploring of new product opportunities and partnerships
