Stock Management Domain: Product Inventory List
Goals/Scope
- This functionality would ensure that all vaccines, their associate products (diluents, syringes, safety boxes), their specifications (# of doses in each vial, vial size, etc.), and manufacturers are captured in the system, so that across all data entry and view screens, they are available as needed (for estimation, for stock management, etc.).
Background
Currently, country's vaccination schedules contain between 8 and 15 vaccines that make up the vaccine product list.. Each year, new vaccines are often added to the schedule. Existing products may change their "presentation" (i.e., the number of usable doses in a vial). For instance, oral Polio vaccine could have either 10 or 20 doses in a vial and a country may order from different manufacturers.Would they order from different manufacturers in the same year? I haven't checked the PQS for this yet if that's where it'd be. The system must support multiple presentations of the same vaccine and multiple manufacturers of the same product.

Characteristics of vaccines: product name, designation, formulation from list of values, formulation, admin route, number of doses in the schedule, presentation, packed volume vaccine, packed volume vaccine per dose, packed volume diluents per dose, vaccine vial monitor type, cost per vial, calculated UNICEF PS, PAHO RF, national prices.
