Update from Malawi

Matthew Kumbuyo (Deactivated)

Presentation by Douglas (Malawi)

Background:

Deployed in Aug 2017. Used across 28 district hospitals, 5 central hospitals and 10 data entry hubs

Initial deployment was v3.0, currently updated to v3.3  

Achievements:

High reporting rate >96% as of Apr-18

Significant improvement in data quality

Challenges

Internet related issues

Limited no. of products ~2000 in the system as opposed to ~6000 products in the catalog

Too many email notifications - need a digest mode for WH members

Roadmap

System Dashboards at Central and District level

Standardization of product and facility codes

Report enhancement

Integration with DHIS2, OpenMRS and WH ERP

Micro-services for POD and stock cards

Follow up Discussions:

Nuran Idris (Unlicensed) - What is the plan to increase the number of products supported in the system

Mary Jo Kochendorfer (Deactivated) - can be part of the non-functional requirements discussion

Samson Thyolani (Unlicensed) - Offline functionality is critical as the internet is patchy. Only a few users have good internet access.

Mary Jo Kochendorfer (Deactivated) - need further discussion to understand requirements in detail

Dianna - Can we have a feature for smart stock management - i.e. analyze replenishment requirements auto stock management

Nuran Idris (Unlicensed) - Roadmap is a wishlist to prioritize the requirements based on discussion with MoH

It is requested that all implementers provide information on their implementations as they relate to the green columns (system specs and working data).  We want to know what connectivity, what size of working data, etc.

It would be useful if we could have data from the following implementations:

Mozambique

Tanzania

Zambia

Guinea

Cote d'ivoire
