Notification ScopeCustomizable notifications

Sam Im (Deactivated)

Still looking for feedback so please update the wiki page with any questions or comments.

Consolidated Notifications:

  • Gaurav: What frequency?
    • Sam: Discussing configurability of the frequency
    • Configurable time (once a day by x time)
  • Gaurav: Will notifications support categorization?
    • Sam: Urgent notifications will be supported
    • Wes: True categorization will likely not be support for the initial release
  • Chifundo: Could also call this a "Digest", user-customization would be helpful

Configurability:

  • Gaurav: Can notifications be resent if some action has not been taken?
    • Chifundo: related to time-sensitive notifications
    • Wes: This seems to veer into task-management/workflow and I think this would be better handled as a separate feature
  • Brian: How many SMS notifications are expected?
    • Limits of 1,000 and 5,000 may require specific agreements
    • Wes: If we are sending that many SMS notifications we may be doing something wrong

Admin Customization:

  • Gaurav: Would it be more efficient to support a more digest-like notification rather than a facility-specific notification?
    • Sam: Yes, and the text would be configurable by channel as well (Email could be longer than SMS)
  • Craig: Ona uses RapidPro for the notification workflow

NFR Performance Update
