Announcement:

OpenLMIS included in Global Fund/Gavi country guidance on selecting LMIS systems

Overview of OpenLMIS Exploratory Phase

(15 minute presentation + Q&A)

Objective: provide countries with ability to quickly deploy a tool to manage COVID commodities; increase visibility and understand their needs (no more excel)

There are limited global supplies-understanding country-level demand can help to optimally distribute demand

Product: Cloud-based lightweight version of OpenLMIS; just for COVID commodities. Plan to build this out in the next 2-3 weeks. Utilize existing OpenLMIS workflow. Very focused on COVID-not flexible. Will build a generalizable product catalog for COVID supplies. Hope to identify countries soon 

Integration with PCMT (Product Catalog Management Tool) to manage product catalog

Roles: VillageReach, CHAI (primary implementing partner), SolDevelo (lead developer)

Carl: There are draft Guidelines on could services; Carl will share. Request: Landing page on the wiki with high level goals/roadmap. This will help to point others in the digital health community to

Stewards are supporting this effort; CHAI is the lead and their role to spread the word 

Existing global goods that have COVID19 features being developed; donor conversations who want to understand what tools to use/promote

WHO has put together list of commodities- are we using this?

What type of Comms things can we do to disseminate this idea- 

• Use the OpenHIE COVID19 Task Force–start letting people know to pay attention to SCM
• other opportunities to leverage/cross-pollinate with other efforts
• Once details are confirmed; will develop a fact sheet for it

-->There is a 2 page memo that CHAI will share;  would be great if it could include what implementation needs are and requirements (ie reliable internet, HR, training, etc.)

Great place to promote the new OpenLMIS COVID initiative

Description and plug for participation in this group to ensure OpenLMIS is cross pollinating with other tools

Supply chain was mentioned as a useful use case; if there is interest from this group it would be great; current focus is on case reporting but anticipate that PPE will

(1) Can you include any family planning-specific country examples or stories? Any more insight on usage in family planning programs?

Conferences and Meetings

Conferences provide the community the opportunity for OpenLMIS members to speak or represent the OpenLMIS software and community in public forum.

Opportunities documentation

Definitions to use shared terminology:

• Implementation opportunity: an opportunity for an implementation or deployment of the OpenLMIS software.  Usually this is done at a national or sub-national level within a ministry of health. This can also include feature work which would be done within the implementation and contributed back to the global codebase.
• Community opportunity: a funding opportunity to support an organization or individual to work directly on the global codebase and/or administrate the community processes. This may include funding specific features on the community roadmap.

• This Trello table is being updated on an ongoing basis; to help the core team to track and manage implementation opportunities, but also provides a detailed snapshot of the scope and status of current implementation opportunities for stakeholders.

Community Opportunities:

• New Trello table! Similar to the above table, this tool is being used by the stewards to track our exploring of new product opportunities and partnerships
