Announcement: OpenLMIS included in Global Fund/Gavi country guidance on selecting LMIS systems | Rebecca Alban (Unlicensed) | The guidance identifies off-the-shelf applications that Gavi; the Global Fund; or other funding, donor or technical assistance agencies can recommend to countries seeking a new LMIS. And thanks to some advocacy efforts from the steward team last year, OpenLMIS is featured in this global guidance! Seven software solutions and service providers (including OpenLMIS) were fully or mostly qualified to support visibility from the central/national storage level to the health facility level. They include proven open-source applications as well as commercial products that come with either software licensing or software as a service (SaaS) agreements. Details on the OpenLMIS website- our latest blog You can download the Country Guidance on Selecting Logistics Management Information System in English or French Gaurav: How does the SIGLUS app fit in re: mobile app? This is something that is in the works but in the future could it become part of the core product as it becomes compatible with v3 Brandon: This is the direction it is heading and worth a future governance committee discussion Kelly- No current conversation about making this a routine thing that can be updated as functionalities are updated; no active tracking being done by global fund and Gavi Ashraf: we should find an opportunity to request that they add other criteria; like open source This snapshots does not do justice to the nuances of these systems–the table can be misleading; there are other considerations and dimensions. Carl; could we pull some of that context together? A blog post that could be promoted by Digital Square? Brian- we can gather input and draft something
New! OpenLMIS Transition FAQs- now in pdf on our website | Rebecca Alban (Unlicensed) | Resource for all to use and share- this should help answer questions from other colleagues, potential partners, funders, current implementations. Encourage all to refer to and share. More content and new Transition web page https://openlmis.org/transition/
Delay of EOI timing | Rebecca Alban (Unlicensed) | Partnership Working Group agreed to delay release of Call for EOI to let our potential partners (and our community) focus on COVID response efforts; and re-focus on the EOI in the coming weeks/month;. exact timing is TBD and will continually be assessed by the WG to determine when is appropriate
Overview of OpenLMIS Exploratory Phase (15 minute presentation + Q&A) | @Brandon Brian Taliesin | slide deck on OpenLMIS Exploratory Phase Overview of Exploratory Phase: timeline, priorities/objectives, workstreams descriptions
COVID19 Product opportunity | Gaurav Bhattacharya (Unlicensed) and Wesley Brown | Objective: provide countries with ability to quickly deploy a tool to manage COVID commodities; increase visibility and understand their needs (no more excel) There are limited global supplies-understanding country-level demand can help to optimally distribute demand Product: Cloud-based lightweight version of OpenLMIS; just for COVID commodities. Plan to build this out in the next 2-3 weeks. Utilize existing OpenLMIS workflow. Very focused on COVID-not flexible. Will build a generalizable product catalog for COVID supplies. Hope to identify countries soon Integration with PCMT (Product Catalog Management Tool) to manage product catalog Roles: VillageReach, CHAI (primary implementing partner), SolDevelo (lead developer) Carl: There are draft Guidelines on could services; Carl will share. Request: Landing page on the wiki with high level goals/roadmap. This will help to point others in the digital health community to Stewards are supporting this effort; CHAI is the lead and their role to spread the word Existing global goods that have COVID19 features being developed; donor conversations who want to understand what tools to use/promote WHO has put together list of commodities- are we using this? What type of Comms things can we do to disseminate this idea-
-->There is a 2 page memo that CHAI will share; would be great if it could include what implementation needs are and requirements (ie reliable internet, HR, training, etc.) | - |
OpenHIE COVID Task Force- Supply Chain Group | Carl Leitner | Great place to promote the new OpenLMIS COVID initiative Description and plug for participation in this group to ensure OpenLMIS is cross pollinating with other tools Supply chain was mentioned as a useful use case; if there is interest from this group it would be great; current focus is on case reporting but anticipate that PPE will Meetings on Monday 11am Eastern https://wiki.ohie.org/display/SUB/COVID-19+Task+Force LOINC being used- how do we cross reference with that for tests and reagents →Request: Can stewards support to draft language for implementations on how to use OpenLMIS to support COVID Response? @Rebecca to re-circulate this info over Discourse
Digital Health Family Planning Compendium (if we have time) | Rebecca Alban (Unlicensed) | Population Reference Bureau is compiling a Digital Health Family Planning Compendium (1) Can you include any family planning-specific country examples or stories? Any more insight on usage in family planning programs?
Recommended dissemination channels for EOI (if there is time) | Rebecca Alban (Unlicensed) | Current list of contacts (tab 1) and dissemination channels (tab 2). PLEASE ADD YOUR IDEAS! Brainstorm list of channels/contacts we can draw on: Private pharma, J&J, Merk, IBM ; Thoughtworks; SAGE; How do we find the right contacts at these organizations to move it past their inbox ?
Conferences and Meetings Conferences provide the community the opportunity for OpenLMIS members to speak or represent the OpenLMIS software and community in public forum. | All | Upcoming Conferences for 2020 (let's add them here!) There is interest in a Digital Square maintained Calendar of Events. So we might eventually link with that calendar in the future
