Dropbox App

-Selective Sync

-Go to your Dropbox app- Initials- Preferences- Sync- Selective Sync

-This will show you all the folders you have access to in Dropbox, make sure you are only syncing folders that you consistently need, and make it a practice that if you no longer need a folder you unselect it to save space

-Smart Sync- This is helpful in saving storage space on files/folders that you already have on your laptop using Selective sync. You can select folders to be “online only” saving you more space on your hard drive as they will also be able to be accessed while you are connected to the internet

-In your file explorer you can select entire folders/sub folders/files and choose either “online only” or “local”

-Online only- you will only be able to access these folders/files when you are connected to the Internet

-Local- this will allow you to access files/folders while you are not connected to the internet

Whatever folder you want to make local or online only, right click and then go to the “smart sync” option

The best way to optimize storage is to have mixed folders, where the team folder itself like 0- Employee Toolkit is online only but you can make sub folder like Charge Codes local
