Synching the distribution is a necessary step in ensuring that all of your reported data is saved into the SELV system. Although data entered in offline mode is cached, it will not be fully saved onto the server until the distribution is synched while in online mode.

For more information on entering data for a distribution in offline mode, see 3. How-To: Record data.

Step-by-step guide

Synchronizing the Distribution

At the end of every data enter session, synchronize your data. When you synchronize, all facilities that are complete (status color green color) will be uploaded and then cannot be changed. Step to synchronize:

  1. Connect your computer to the Internet.
  2. Go to Distribution > Manage in SELV.
  3. Click the Go Online button. (If you are already in online mode you will not see this button. Continue to Step 4.)
  4. Click the Sync button next to the distribution you have been entering data for.
  5. Wait for the message that the distribution has been synchronized.
  6. Whenever you are ready, you can continue entering more data for the distribution. Synchronize again when you are complete.

Tips and Tricks:

If the distribution you are attempting to synch is not complete, you will get an alert saying "No facility for the chosen zone, program and period is ready to be sync."

This means that there are still incomplete data fields in at least one of the facilities within the distribution you are trying to synch. Click Record Data for the chosen distribution in the list and look at the status colors in the facility dropdown menu to determine where you are missing data. Once a facility's data is complete you can attempt to synch again. See Entering Data: Status colors & data definitions for more information on status colors and data completion.
