Tablet Data Usage
Summary
This simple guide shows the basics of viewing data usage on an Android tablet without having to install a 3rd party app.
Device:Â Google Nexus 10 running Android 4.4

Navigate to Settings

From the home screen, swipe your finger down from the upper right corner. You should see a menu as pictured. Tap on "Settings".

Navigate to Data Usage
Once the settings screen displays, as pictured here, tap on "Data Usage" under "Wireless and Network" settings.

View Data Usage
The data usage screen, as pictured here, displays:
- Data usage cycle. This defaults to the latest "period" (roughly a month). You may optionally select another period by tapping on it:Â
- Graph of cumulative data usage over time within the data usage cycle selected. You may use your finger on this graph to select what is displayed below. Shaded areas are not counted, bright areas are.
- Data used, displayed below the graph shows the total data usage from the bright (non-shaded) areas of the graph. To see this for the entire data usage cycle, make sure you select everything from far left to far right in the graph.
- A list of applications and their data usage sorted by most used at the top and descending. This is also dependent on the area selected in the graph.
