Tablet Testing

For all tablets:

  1. Check for all required equipment

    1. Each tablet should have the following equipment:

  2. Power on
    1. Turn on the tablet by pressing and holding the power button (the smaller of two buttons) on the side of the tablet.
  3. Confirm login capabilities
    1. Once powered on, the tablet will open to the lock screen, requiring a password to proceed to the home screen.
    2. In the upper right-hand corner of the screen, the default admin account, "Villi" will display. Clicking the account icon will display all available accounts OR swipe down from the top of the screen (above the clock) to view the dashboard and click on the user icon from the dashboard.
    3. Two accounts, the "Villi" admin account, as well as a restricted field coordinator "FC[#]" should be available
    4. Login to the admin account, and then the field coordinator account using the passwords recorded on the Tablet Tracking & Accounts page
  4. Check selected configuration settings
    1. While signed into the field coordinator account, confirm the following configuration settings (full configuration instructions available on Tablet Check List page):
      1. General Settings:
        1. Home Screen: The home screen should be empty other than Chrome shortcuts to "SELV Production" and "SELV Offline"
        2. Applications: Click the applications menu in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. Settings, Chrome, and FireFox should be the only available applications
        3. Sounds - Turn off sounds by (Settings->Device->Sound) unchecking Touch sounds, Screen lock sound, Haptic feedback, and keyboard sounds
        4. Lock Screen - Confirm restricted user set up (Settings->Device->Lock Screen); a password should be set, lock automatically set to 5 minutes, and lock with power key unchecked
      2. Google Chrome setup:
        1. From the applications menu, open Chrome
        2. Click on the menu (the three vertical dots in the right-hand corner of the screen), and select Bookmarks. Four bookmarks should exist; SELV Production, SELV Offline, SELV Training, and SELV Training Offline
      3. Mozilla FireFox setup:
        1. From the applications menu, open FireFox
        2. Click on Bookmarks  on the toolbar under the URL field. Four bookmarks should exist; SELV Production, SELV Offline, SELV Training, and SELV Training Offline
  5. Check TP-Link accessibility
    1. Open the WiFi settings on the tablet (applications->Settings->Connections->Wi-Fi)
    2. Ensure the TP-Link is set to 3G/4G mode (look at the setting on the side)
    3. Turn on the TP-Link modem using the power switch on the opposite side of the settings
    4. Confirm that the TP-Link connection (called FC[#]) is available in the list of WiFi networks on the tablet
    5. Select the TP-Link connection and enter the password (according to the Tablet Tracking & Accounts page) to connect
    6. Once connected, turn off the TP-Link and connect to Wifi
  6. Access SELV
    1. From the applications menu, while connected to Wifi, open Chrome and select the SELV Training bookmark (do not use the bookmark or shortcuts to SELV Production)
    2. Enter username and password on the login page
  7. Power off
    1. Press and hold the power button (the smaller of two buttons) on the side of the tablet until the "Device options" dialogue box appears.
    2. Select "Power off"

Access SELV

  1. Login
    1. From the applications menu, while connected to Wifi, open Chrome and select the SELV Training bookmark (do not use the bookmark or shortcuts to SELV Production)
    2. Enter username and password on the login page
  2. Initiate a distribution
    1. Select the Distributions button, and select the "Manage" option
    2. Select a Zone, Program, and Month from the dropdown menus
    3. Click the Initiate distribution menu
  3. Go offline
    1. Without closing Chrome, disconnect the WiFi
  4. Record data
    1. In Chrome, select the SELV Training Offline bookmark
    2. Select the Manage option under Distributions
    3. Select "Record Data" for the distribution just initiated from the Initiated Distributions list
    4. Select a facility from to drop down menu
    5. Enter data for the facility in all tabs on the left
    6. Select another facility from the dropdown menu, and indicate that the facility was not visited
    7. Select "NR" (no record) for all data in the remaining tabs
  5. Go online
    1. Reconnect the tablet to the WiFi
    2. Click the "Go Online" button on the top right of the SELV offline screen
  6. Sync data
    1. Select the Manage option under Distributions
    2. Click the Sync button next to the distribution for which data was recorded
    3. Click the Record Data button, and confirm that the facilities for which data was entered now display a blue color indicator
