Where are we at now

• We have events and a table that stores them

• Stock card line items is the read-write side - we never delete or update them

Use case for figuring SoH as of any given date

• Do we need to be able to retrieve SoH as it was reported on any given date?

Our approach to tackle SoH

• Simply store SoH into Stock Cards - simplest solution but only stores SoH as of most recent event

• Introduce Stock on Hand table to store current SoH with every stock event - also doesn’t need to be with every event - events from the same day could update one record

• Would it make sense to merge the approaches? - Could be too soon for optimizing the fact table + write operation would be slower

• Go with the fact table with SoH
