COVID Feature GapsWesley Brown

Forum Post from Josh:

https://forum.openlmis.org/t/covid-vaccines-products-kits-and-logistic-units/5913

  • Logistic unit concept does not exist in OpenLMIS
  • Changeable expiration dates
  • Kits as shipments
  • Barcode printers/scanners are critical to supporting this
    • As well as an internet connection to read them
Next Version (3.12) Features

Christine: From SELV (Moz) - supporting transfer of equipment from one facility to another

Sebastian: Ben mentioned requisition performance regressions (specifically the Initiate Requisition task)

Wes: Basic Android App (basic enough to be done in 1 release cycle)

  • Christine: This could be useful in a COVID-context. Start with something like Physical Inventory. This could help other users to be able to do the requisition.
  • Josh: What is the viable MVP scenario with this? How would this be more useful than integration with OpenSRP? Could we use something like ODK for this?
  • Wes: See this as a platform to build on in the future, this is often asked for.
  • Christine: The OpenSRP integration is still hard to movement on, can we either improve that integration or create our own solution? Some implementations already have a solution for facility-level patient data handling.
  • Sebastian: This could be possible, but only if we bring in some experienced android app developers. There would likely be some backend (API) changes required to enable this. Would really need to define the project well and keep to the scope.
    • Christine: Several implementations would be interested in this and might be able to help

Prioritization

Josh - 1) Performance, either next

Christine (SELV) - 1) Equipment transfer, 2) Basic Android App

Wes - 1) Equipment Transfer, 2) Basic Android App

Next PC meeting: Topic ideas??

  1. Decide on next release priorities
  2. Sachin Jagtap (Unlicensed) to give an update on GAVI/WHO work regarding COVID Vaccine Distribution (in the future)

Dianna has offered to facilitate the discussion about the mobile app in the next meeting!
