Notes
- Because the purpose of PAV is to automate data collection, we can't ask Timoteo to manually monitor DHIS-2's availability. Nor can we rely on end users to discover and report that it's down. Monitoring the availability of its login page may be a quick and easily solution, and Ben Leibert would be glad to set it up. This is contingent on whether the availability of the login page, though, is a good indicator of the availability of the system's API. It may or may not be. An alternate approach may be to update NiFi such that it sends an alert email when it finds DHIS-2 to be down.
- Clay prefers that we continue submitting support-requests via channels like email rather than through a ticketing system.
Action Items
- Ben Leibert will send Clay Crosby (Unlicensed) logged error messages related to NiFi's attempts to backup the database.
- Clay Crosby (Unlicensed) will let Ben know whether NiFi can easily be updated such that it sends an alert email when it finds DHIS-2 to be down. (Because it already logs such occurrences to a file, having it email the same information may be simple.)
- Clay Crosby (Unlicensed) will let Ben know where to check-in his materialized-view definitions.
- Clay Crosby (Unlicensed) will let Ben know whether Scalyr is setup to alert when RAM/CPU usage exceeds a predefined threshold.
- Clay Crosby (Unlicensed) will update the dashboard's detail-table links such that they don't embed chart definitions.
