Implementation Opportunity Roudtable-updateRebecca Alban (Unlicensed)

Any update on who won the recent Zambia eSCMIS opportunity? it was due back in March...

Ashraf- don't know-think that it still ahsnt been awarded; PATH- don't know

Recent opportunities of Note:

Lesotho MOH wants to move away from existing system take on OpenLMIS. We provided an initial OpenLMIS demo, and subsequently they showed us their current system so that we can assess what features/functionalities overlap with OpenLMIS and what would need to be built in as the current system meets their functional requirements. It seems like most things are there in OpenLMIS so that was a positive. Next step: Study Tour application (CHAI to facilitate)

PSI Madagascar- sent ppt with their requirements for their USAID-funded IMPACT project and we are coordinating with them for a discussion re: pilot. Their project aims to ensure quality SCM data for the public, private, and commercial sector–want OpenLMIS to be a tool that links the 3 sectors. Next Step: Meeting to discuss requirements

Besoin OpenLMIS pour IMPACT.pptx

Senegal, Cameroon, and Myanmar also considering Study Tours (CHAI is TP who is coordinating these efforts)

Ashraf: asked how many hosts it will cover and if an in country person's daily per diem could be covered

JSI: Project in egypt focused on fam planning products- there is an RFP advertised and JSI is the prime and looking for others to apply. This is a 3 tiered solution-- organizations can offer a combination of products that might meet the requirements. Facility level still uses arabic and their forms are in arabic

Here is the link from Ashraf:

RFP No: SEFPP-19-03 - Family Planning Sector's Health & Logistics Management Information Systems

Sustainability Update: Resonance

25 min

Resonance Team

Kaleb

Summary/updates from workshop in Washington, DC

Gained alignment on utilization of DIAL Open Source Center, Resonance is in touch with DIAL on this

Working with VR and Gates Foundation to figure out

Detailed workplan to come in the next few weeks

Q&A

Carl: Market data is needed re: feasibility of some of the proposed markets. Can you provide more clarity aroudn which direction we will be going in this area? Answer: our number 1 priority is to validate the private sector health customers, make a compelling case to understand whether that market is viable. Talking with VR about prototyping

Kim: re-surfacing interest in Agriculture, there is opportunity there for a longer term strategy. Need stamp of approval from Gates to investigate this as a pathway in the future as well

What inputs are needed from us at this point? Not sure what the best way for us to provide input yet

Timeline updates -not yet determined

Gavi/GF RFI Update

5 min

Rebecca Alban (Unlicensed)

We are pleased to share the good news that OpenLMIS was one of 10 global eLMIS software solutions shortlisted by Gavi as ‘pre-qualified solutions’ for recommendation to countries!

https://forum.openlmis.org/t/openlmis-shortlisted-as-gavi-elmis-solution/5201

This is something we will publish on our website and future collateral

Gavi and GF are building their budgets now but the application process is around the end of the year- could be worth while have some targeted messaging. Gavi is a rolling process who has 3 windows per year to full portfolio planning.

The organizations and TPs should have a sense of where their countries are in their portfolio planning–they will be in different stages and have different timelines than the Global Fund. Global Fund is just an annual process. Ministries develop the budget and submit for funding-internal MoH politics can decide who is at the table-the challenge is to get the right SCM stakeholders to have input into the budgeting process

Trusted Partner Update

10  minutes

Rebecca Alban (Unlicensed) and Carl Leitner

Update re: Infinity Systems

Ongoing effort to refining the Trusted Partner concept–review period, documentation, etc. Will use the opportunity of officially 'launching' any new documentation or processes along with the future state of OpenLMIS, so that concepts and timing are all coordinated. Getting roles & responsibilities and descriptions right now, even if detailed terms change. Putting things on hold until strategic direction held down.

Wes: Should we be taking on new partners at this time? Might make sense to hold off until we know more information about our future state

We will continue to field requests for TPs, but if we get them we will let them know about our sustainability process and give them some time frames

Talk through timelines to get to finalization: if Resonance will have final report in August, we will finalize after recommendations in august

Will initiate Trusted Partner check-in meetings with each TP organization in the coming month to  discuss:

  • Reflections re: sustainability process
  • What does success look like for this partnership?
    • near and long-term goals to achieve
    • community contributions
      • what is the TP expecting from the community?
      • what are the contributions that the TP will make back to the community?
  • Partner interests/priorities in the coming year
  • Capacity building needs re: OpenLMIS product or implementation
    • how can stewards support?
  • OpenLMIS Community Meeting in Johannesburg, November
    • interest/availability for participation
    • Other ideas from the group??

Former user (Deleted) from Resonance is available to support with this

Opportunities Roundtable

Definitions to use shared terminology:

  • Implementation opportunity: an opportunity for an implementation or deployment of the OpenLMIS software.  Usually this is done at a national or sub-national level within a ministry of health. This can also include feature work which would be done within the implementation and contributed back to the global codebase.
  • Community opportunity: a funding opportunity to support an organization or individual to work directly on the global codebase and/or administrate the community processes. This may include funding specific features on the community roadmap.
Rebecca Alban (Unlicensed)

Country implementation opportunities:

  • This Trello table is being updated on an ongoing basis; to help the core team to track and manage implementation opportunities, but also provides a detailed snapshot of the scope and status of current implementation opportunities for stakeholders.

Community Opportunities:

  • New Trello table! Similar to the above table, this tool is being used by the stewards to track our exploring of new product opportunities and partnerships

Study Tours (coming soon):

  • Study Tours wiki page tracks applications recieved, study tours completed, and other key milestones related to OpenLMIS Study Tours
