Data Viewer/Edit Tool Guidelines
Installing the Data Edit Tool
To get access to the data edit tool, contact Ron in ISG
What can you do with the Data Viewer/Edit Tool?
The data viewer/edit tool provides direct access to view and edit data that has been synced to SELV. This is needed because the SELV website does not provide the function to view or edit data that has already been synced. This allows VillageReach staff responsible for data collection and accuracy  (such as Vidya or Tatenda) to monitor data submission and correct errors.
The data edit tool supports:
- Viewing all data that has been synced to SELV (even if the entire distribution has not yet been synced)
- Changing data entered on the Visit, EPI Inventory, EPI Use, Full Coverage, Child Coverage, and Adult Coverage tabs
The data edit tool does not support:
- Bulk edits of multiple visit records or fields
- Changing ideal stock amounts
- Changing refrigerator dataÂ
Â
Usage Guidelines
- Vidya and Tatenda have access to the data edit tool
- Use the Data Viewer Tool when you want to view data that has been entered
- Use the Data Edit Tool only when you want to edit data – use with caution (see below)
- Any change made in the tool is automatically, immediately saved to the database.Â
- There is no ability to see what the value before after you have made a change. If you want to save the original data values before making a change, take a screenshot.
- You can "undo" your last action only using the Access undo button
- There is no save button. All changes are automatically saved.
- Recommendation:Â use the data viewer tool to plan changes, then use the data edit tool when ready to make changes
