Tableau: How to open a report in Tableau

Each month you will receive a new report via email. This report gives information on the health center data from your province. These reports are packaged in a Tableau file format and can only be viewed in Tableau Reader. Step-by-step guide

Opening a Tableau Report

  1. Find the file you wish to open. If you receive the report file directly through your email, open the email message with the attachment and double click on the file. Alternatively, if you have the file saved on your computer or flash drive, locate it there and double click.
  2. Tableau Reader will open and display the report.
  3. Continue to __tableau: understanding the report__ for more on the information being displayed. 

 

Tips and Tricks:

If you try to open a Tableau Reader file and you get an error message that the file extension cannot be opened, you may not have the Tableau Reader software properly installed on your computer. For how to download and install Tableau Reader, see Tableau: How to download and install Tableau Reader.
